Route : Sapa - Bac Ha - Hoang Su Phi - Ha Giang - Dong Van - Ba Be National Park - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Cao Bang - Lan Ha Bay

Itinerary

Pick up at your hotel at 8.AM. Head to Sapa via new highway. Chance to see the change from urban life to rural activities. It takes approximately 6 hours to get to Sapa town.

After a tasty lunch in a local restaurant, check in your hotel and have a short rest. Afternoon then is the best time to discover stunning landscape of Sapa and the surroundings on a total 30-km motobike ride. The ride heads to the fascinating highest peak of O Qui Ho Pass, which is 2035m, also known as Heaven Gate. There is also chance to see glamorous Silver waterfall on the way, which is a symbol of hilly Northwest Vietnam.

Today, experience an exciting full day trek winding through the emerald terraced rice fields of Black Hmong people. Pass H.mong Lao Chai village. Come across the local people going about their daily activities. Chance to visit some local schools where you get the friendly waving hands of naive Hmong and Yao children. Stop for lunch in Ta Van village before trekking to a romantic old hanging bridge crossing Muong Hoa river. 

Say goodbye to dreamy Sapa. A 3-hour drive transfers you to Bac Ha, known a white highland because of fame for opium in 20 century. Time for you to discover Bac Ha town on foot. 

Spend the morning on King Hoang A Tuong old palace and Bac Ha market. If Sunday, chance to see a typically northwest fair of Hmong people. Then head to Ban Pho, a remote village belonging to Hmong people where you can spend 1-1.5 hours discovering. Leave for Hoang Su Phi on a 4-hour drive. Enjoy the beauty of nature on the way or the adventurous ups and downs of ragged roads. Lunch in Coc Pai town.

After lunch, start to drive up the mountain. Reach the top at Ban Phung village, home of La Chi ethnic minority. After a short rest, afternoon is best to discover Ban Phung village on foot by a visit to La Chi ancient tomb, or view from the top down to the rice fields during a romantic sunset. Great experience!

 

Start the day with a 3-hour trek off the beaten path to discover Ban Phung. Roam through jungle, cross some La Chi villages or wind around exotic rice fields. Stop at a local school to interact with local children who welcome you with warmest waving hands. 

After trekking, head to Hoang Su Phi township for a local lunch. The rest of the day will be spent on the car to Ha Giang where you meet Tay people. If you follow romanticism, best chance for you to see the sunset in the middle of lush terraced rice fields and palm forest.

 

Start the day by waking up to the sunrise. After breakfast, wind up the mountain to Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark. The first destination is Quan Ba district. Stop at some places to admire the majestic nature and for photo hunting opportunities. Lunch at a local restaurant in Yen Minh town.

After lunch, start short walk to see life of Hmong people here from some isolated local villages. Then pay a visit to the King of Hmong palace in Sa Phin valley before heading to Dong Van. Enjoy incredible landscape on the way . Reach Dong Van after a 30-min drive. If time permits, walk up the French fortress of Dong Van district to get the whole view of the ancient town.

 

Day begins with a visit to Dong Van market. If Sunday, get to see a unique market fair of Hmong people. After the market, a 20-min drive transfers you to the trekking point at Ma Pi Leng pass. Hike up the mountain to the edge of Nho Que valley where you can view to majestic mountain by the border of China. Here you will be blown away by the stunning beauty of this top-of-the-world destination. This 3-hour walk takes you to the top of the pass, through some local Hmong villages and ends after with a stroll along the edge of the mountain looking down Tu San canyon. After a short break for nature admiration, transfer to Ba Be lake on a 5 hour drive.

Enjoy last breakfast in this rural paradise before 3-hour boating around the lake. Short walk to see Cam village with nature, local people and school at the end of the lake. Continue to Puong cave, a tunnel cave full of amazement from limestone stalactites and stalagmites to mysterious bats. Continue to Buoc Lom wharf where you say goodbye to Ba Be and leave for Quang Uyen district of Cao Bang province. 

Take a morning exercise after a long sleep to enjoy the fresh air before your served local breakfast. Hit the road again to exotic Ban Gioc waterfall, the fourth biggest border waterfall in the world between Vietnam and China. Stop en route for a short walk around Phuoc Sen village, a Nung village where they make knives as traditional handicraft. Picnic lunch at the waterfall and relax.

Pay a visit to mysterious Nguom Ngao limestone cave, known as Tiger cave before head for Lang Son city. Take the rest of the day discovering the city at dusk.

 

07:30: Transfer to Cat Hai port from Lang Son City.

12:00 - 12:30: Embark on the cruise to Lan Ha bay, enjoy a welcome drink and cruise briefing.

13:00 – 14:00: A splendid lunch is served while cruising into the primitive Lan Ha bay.

16:15 – 17:45: On a bamboo boat, visit Bright cave, a serene round lake surrounded by lush trees and high stone cliffs. Then enjoy swimming in the private emerald water

18:00 – 19:30: Return to the cruise for sunset party on the top deck.  Relax with massage and spa treatment, always available upon request.

19:30: Delight in the shimmering atmosphere of thousands of stars while eating a fantastic, expertly prepared dinner on the top deck of your boat, all while floating in the center of the serene bay.

 

06:00 – 06:30: Start your day with Tai Chi exercises or a photo hunt.

06:45 – 08:30: Enjoy breakfast in the fresh air and serene atmosphere excellence of the bay. Transfer to a Day boat for a day of exploration.

09:00 – 11:00: Join a trekking and cycling tour to Viet Hai village.

12:00 – 13:30: Return to the day boat. Enjoy lunch onboard.

13:30 – 15:30: Swim and kayak in Ba Ham Lake, a mystical wild lagoons on the bay

16:00: Back to your cabin cruise

19:00: Enjoy dinner on top deck. Squid fishing or just laze around. Overnight onboard

 

06:00 – 06:30: Begin your new day with a Tai Chi session or a photo hunt.

07:00 - 07:45: Enjoy breakfast in the fresh air and peaceful beauty of the Bay

08:00 – 09:00: Experience kayaking to discover the lovely Tra Bau area. Visit a fish farm and socialize with the resident fishermen in order to know more about life here and how the people work every day.

09:00 – 09:45: Pack your luggage and check out of your cabin while cruising towards the port.

10:00 – 11:45: Join a cooking demonstration before enjoying an extraordinary buffet lunch.

12:00 – 12:15: Disembark the cruise & farewell.

15.00: Pay a visit to Phu Lang pottery village to learn about a historical handicaft and village life of Vietnamese along Cau river before getting back to Hanoi.
