Route : Ha Noi - Ha Giang - Quan Ba - Dong Van - Yen Minh - Ha Noi
Move to Ha Giang on a 6-hour drive after pick-up at 8 AM. Along the way, you will see a dramatic change from the busy life of Hanoi to a more tranquil scene in suburban. A short break is set along the way for a walk down a village before lunch at a local restaurant.
Later on, get ready to arrive in Ha Giang along the Lo River. Take the rest of day to wander around the Tay tribal villages filled with a vibrant and vivid rice fields, traditional wooden stilt houses tiled with palm leaves.
Other than that, you can choose to cool the heat by a stream before your authentic dinner afterwards.
Explore the hidden parts of Ha Giang with a full day 18-km trek. Starting at a local Tay village, you trek up the off-beat trails, wind through a chain of wild jungles and captivating terraced rice fields to reach the highest point of Tay Con Linh Mountain Range, home to the Yao people.
Do not forget to mingle with ethnic students from a local school nearby during your short break before heading to an exotic lunch with a local Yao host family.
After lunch, start an easier trek down the valley and finish in the Tay village. The rest of day is spent to reach Quan Ba District.
The third morning is ideal for a morning walk or cycle around the Yao tribal hamlet and call this a brilliant easy self-planned sightseeing.
For around 2 hours later, transfer to Dong Van. Lunch is served on the way to Yen Minh Town before a short walk to the isolated Hmong villages.
The ancient palace of a Hmong King marks the end of the day before you arrive at Dong Van. If time allows, walk for another 20 minutes to a mountain's summit, where lies a vacant French fortress to enjoy sunset.
Day four begins with a visit to Dong Van fresh market. If Sunday, take this chance to witness a unique colorful fair of the Hmong people.
Later on, hike up the mountain to the edge of Nho Que Valley for a magnificent view towards the majestic nearby mountain located along the border with mainland China. There, join in a 7-km hike to Thien Huong Village, a traditional village of the Tay people who live in amazing clay houses.
Head back to Dong Van Town for lunch before a drive to Ma Pi Leng Pass, where you get to be blown away by the stunning beauty of this top-of-the-world destination.
A later 3-hour walk takes you to the top of the pass after winding through a wide range of local Hmong villages and ends with a stroll along the edge of the mountain looking down Tu San Valley.
After a short break for nature admiration, move on with another 2-hour drive to Yen Minh through Meo Vac.
Wake up in the morning to regret passing time in this wonderland before returning Hanoi.
